A TRIBUTE to honor the permanency of the Wisconsin River and its place in the lives of people past and present, this carefully curated collection by Joseph Leute was created - featuring awe-inspiring images of the river, river boat captains, and other souls deeply connected to the river.

The exquisite photographs of the Wisconsin River in the groundbreaking landscapes of H.H. Bennett arguably marked the first foray into infusing art into the Wisconsin Dells experience. Fast-forward decades and generations, and the river remains the singularly most enduring and inspiring photography subject.

Fine Art Collection from Photographer Joseph Leute
Photography that speaks to the raw beauty in both land and human form, with the Wisconsin River the essence of the artist’s inspiration.

Joseph Leute is a product of Wisconsin. Growing up on the Upper Dells of the Wisconsin River provided a treasure trove of adventures spread out for his choosing. That ultimately inspired his journey to photography, to images that capture the raw beauty of landscapes and the raw beauty of the human form as well.

Leute now splits his time between his home on the shore of Mirror Lake in south central Wisconsin and a lease in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

He started his career shooting for the Associated Press and that storytelling, street-style of shooting is evident in his images. He was trained at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
